The call for speaker and workshop proposals is now open! If you have a topic that is relevant to the sport of climbing and would like to share your knowledge, information or skills with others, please submit your proposal by January 5, 2020.

Selection Criteria

Selection by the CWA Summit Content Committee will be based on a presentation or workshop's ability to satisfy the following criteria:

  • Provide a networking and professional development forum for today’s leaders

  • Educate climbing wall owners and managers about sound or innovative management practices

  • Educate staff about gym operations, programming, and risk management

  • Influence sound climbing and instructional practices throughout the industry

  • Provide options for advanced practitioners to continue to learn and grow

  • Enrich the sport of climbing


Speakers and workshops at the 2020 CWA Summit should address topics such as: 

  • Startups and Business Formation

  • Business Growth and Expansion

  • Legal and Risk Management

  • Management and Operations

  • Coaching/Training

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion 

  • Routesetting

  • Program Development and Management

  • Leadership

Conference Session

The CWA invites you to become a part of a select group of industry speakers, presenters, and experts to help produce a stellar professional development conference for the indoor climbing industry. If you have an area of expertise and would like to share your knowledge, information or skills with others, please submit a proposal for a 75 minute conference session.

Pre/Post-Conference Workshop

Go in-depth on a specific topic or training by teaching a long-form pre- or post-conference workshop, ranging from a few hours to multiple days: 

  • CWA certifications

  • Management training

  • Customer service training

  • Coaching skills development

  • Routesetting training  

  • And more!
